The Amsterdam Vondel Hotels collection has an unprecedented productive year in 2017. The lease agreements regarding Hotel Vondel and Hotel Roemer in Amsterdam (120 rooms in total) have been extended with new owner DEKA Immobilien. In addition, the lease for Hotel JL Nº 76 in Amsterdam (39 rooms) has also been extended for a long term. Vondel Hotels continues to grow. For example, three new hotels will be added in Amsterdam in the next two years, one in Maastricht and plans are in place to add Leiden and Utrecht to the collection. 3stone Real Estate acts as advisor to Vondel Hotels on all these extensions and expansions in the future.

As an active player in the hospitality industry, the Vondel Hotels collection will continue to grow over the following years. The Jonker Urban Studios & Suites has recently opened at Plantage Middenlaan 40, with a total of 15 luxurious studios and suites. The rooms provided with a kitchenette have a stylish look and feel, but old characteristic elements such as the staircase, the fireplaces and tiles have been retained. There is no staff available, guests check in themselves. Vondel Hotels focuses on guests, both business and leisure, who wish for an optimal sense of privacy, in the middle of the center of Amsterdam.

In 2018, Hotel Overtoomse Houthandel will open the doors of 82 luxury hotel rooms at the Overtoom in Amsterdam. The original wooden beams from the building are retained and the hotel gets a traditional and robust appearance. The COC building “Ons Huis” in the Rozenstraat in Amsterdam has also been added to the Vondel Hotels collection. At this moment, “Hotel Mercier” is being realized in this monumental building. A four-star deluxe boutique hotel with 44 rooms and two suites and a restaurant will open in the summer of 2018.
In addition, the ambitious hotel collective has added a location in Maastricht to the portfolio: Hotel Monastère Maastricht. In the former monastery at Boschstraat 69-71, 54 luxury hotel rooms will be delivered in the first quarter of 2018. De Boschstraat, located in the center of Maastricht, is a mixed residential -and shopping street with a large number of monumental buildings. The monastery was built in the 14th century and has a rich history.

The latest acquisition of Vondel Hotels is a hotel at the Geldersekade in Amsterdam. This hotel wil be realized in a national monument that served as a Chinese warehouse. The hotel will be designed in an Asian theme and the atmosphere will breathe the Shanghai of today. The four-star boutique hotel has around 84 different rooms and suites and will open its doors in 2019. In addition, growth plans are in place for more hotels outside of Amsterdam, including Utrecht and Leiden. The hotel-collective has the ambition to become more visible in the Netherlands and to introduce guests from all over the world to the unique collection of special buildings in combination with the signature of Vondel Hotels; hospitality, art and design.
