Tilburg | In the business area “Spoorzone” the development of an office building has taken off on the former site of publisher Zwijsen. The developer is Fraterstraat B.V. , a collaboration between (Volker Wessels subsidiary) Van de Ven Bouw en Ontwikkeling and M7 Development. UWV and the municipality of Tilburg are the tenants of the office building.

The modern office building, which is built on the corner of the Gasthuisring and Burgemeester Brokxlaan, consists of three parts . On the side of the Gasthuisring the building has three floors, this height matches the height of the residences in the street. The large middle part ( atrium ) has an open character . The sunlight can reach through the roof to the ground floor. At the ground floor public spaces will be realized with a public entrance at the site of the Burgemeester Brokxlaan.

The central office part consists of six floors and comprises approx. 7.500 m² . It is expected that the building is completed in Q1 2015. There is a semi-underground parking garage with 62 parking spaces and bicycle storage for staff . Behind the building another 38 parking spaces are available.

The municipality will accomodate the largest part of the department ‘Work and Income”, about 175 employees, in this new office . The employees of this department are now spread over several locations in the city . Also 160 employees of the department “Employment” and “Medical and Social Affairs” will take up residence here.
