The German real estate asset manager AEW has acquired a distribution center from parcel delivery company DHL in Utrecht for one of its funds.
The logistics building is located in the Lage Weide Business Park, has a surface area of 15,200 m2 and has a Breeam certificate. DHL serves the city of Utrecht and its immediate surroundings from the DC.
It concerns a sale-and-lease-back transaction. DHL Parcel will lease the building for at least ten years. Further financial details have not been disclosed.
The AEW fund in question was launched in 2019 and is now active in Germany, Finland, Spain and the Netherlands. With this transaction, AEW strengthens the existing cooperation with DHL in Europe, according to Frederique Weber, responsible for the Netherlands at AEW.
