Syntrus Achmea Real Estate & Finance has purchased a residential building with 235 apartments within the Eindhoven ring road from area developer SDK Vastgoed (VolkerWessels). The delivery of “De Bakermat” is planned for 2022.

With this acquisition, Achmea Dutch Residential Fund (ADRF) is strengthening its investment portfolio (1.4 billion euros) in an economically strong region with a high demand for rental properties. “With this purchase we ensure an even better spread of our portfolio over the G5 municipalities,” said fund manager Onno Hoff of Syntrus Achmea. “Following the recent acquisitions in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, these homes in Eindhoven are a very welcome addition.”

“With its unique design, De Bakermat fits in perfectly with the TDK vision of the city of Eindhoven (Technology, Design and Knowledge). With a progressive eye for detail, De Bakermat on Marconiplein will be an architectural highlight for one of the important entrances to the city center, ”says Dennis van de Ven, director of SDK Vastgoed.

About De Bakermat

The 235 homes consist of both two and three-room apartments, varying between 54 and 107 m2. For the tenants there will be a mobility plan with guaranteed availability about electric shared cars and bicycles. As a result, the number of parking places for own cars is limited, partly due to the direct presence of high-quality public transport. The Bakermat is supplied with sustainable heat (biomass).

The design of De Bakermat originated from a collaboration between designer Maarten Baas and architectural firm Van Aken and was chosen by the Eindhoven residents as the winning design at this location. The construction is carried out by contractor Stam + De Koning Bouw bv and for this purchase Syntrus Achmea was assisted by Houthoff. SDK Vastgoed is assisted in the sales process by ABC Capital and 3stone Real Estate.
