Vondel Hotels has officially opened the doors of Hotel van de Vijsel and Café Woodz on the Overtoom 13-17 in Amsterdam. The hotel, located in the former timber trade Van de Vijsel, has 82 rooms in the four-star segment.

After an intensive renovation of more than two years, in which the original wooden beams have been numbered and removed and placed back on the original site, guests and neighbors can now fully enjoy the property. Architect Minke Wagenaar has fully restored the building and given it a modern twist.

HOTEL OF WOOD

Since the 19th century, Houthandel Van de Vijsel has been located in the monumental building. Wood naturally predominates. Different types of wood are subtly processed in the hotel and in the luxurious rooms, interspersed with vintage details from the 19th century. Hotel van de Vijsel is characterized by characteristic elements of wood and vintage combined with art and design. A fusion of industry and craftsmanship can still be felt in the powerful appearance of the building. Nicemakers is responsible for the interior and has found a good mix between contemporary design and vintage elements that fit the history of the building.

Hotel manager Ric van Holthe to Echten: “I can’t wait to check in the first guests at the new hotel and welcome the neighbors. The special design of the hotel is a real asset to the city “.

Vondel Hotels was advised by 3stone Real Estate in this transaction.
